New York four-piece Deadbeat Darling is spending time on both sides of the pond.  After selling out some of NYC’s most prestigious venues over the course of the last 3 years, the band was signed by UK label Spearhavoc Records in March 2011, and promptly whisked away from Brooklyn to record in Wales with Grammy award winning producer Ken Nelson (Coldplay, Badly Drawn Boy).  The album, titled “THE ANGEL’S SHARE”, was mixed by another Grammy award winner, Adrian Bushby (Muse, Foo Fighters), and is due out in early 2012. With a bit of downtown swagger and post-indie charm, their sound weaves together rock with hints of surf and dub. A native of neither extreme, their lifestyle toggles between Brooklyn dive bars and the mise en scene of the West Side’s fashion district; their live show is a sweaty barrage of unrestrained energy and mischievous sway that leaves little doubt as to why Deadbeat Darling has garnered such a rabid and eclectic following…

Tribes – ‘Baby’ (Island Records)

to celebrate the release of their debut album on January 16th 2012, we’re pleased to announce Landslide will be hosting their Album playback on Saturday 14th January, with giveaways and an amazing competition [more details TBC]

“January 16th 2012 see’s the eagerly awaited release of Tribes debut album ‘Baby’ on Island Records, with the single ‘We Were Children’dropping a week prior on the 9th.

Put to tape over six intense weeks in Liverpool with producer Mike Crossey, these songs have been honed to perfection during an odyssey of couch surfing and tearing the arse out of sweaty, shoebox-sized venues. Like with so many great debut albums, ‘Baby’ is the culmination of the band’s own lives up to this point. For singer Johnny Lloyd, the tracks that make up the album were penned during a two month period that saw him split from his girlfriend, move back in with his parents and tragically have to come to terms with the death of his lifelong friend, Ou Est Le Swimming Pool front man Charlie Haddon.”

Currently touring the US and Europe and fresh from an impressively sold-out Electric Ballroom show, the Camden quartet are set to end a huge year when they play XFMs Winter Wonderland at Brixton Academy on December 14th, topped off with headlining the New Year party at the HMV Forum on the 31st.

The band are also very pleased to announce that they’ll be joining Two Door Cinema Club, Metronomy and Azealia Banks for the NME Awards Tour in February (full dates below).

Ah balls, it’s that time of year again! The city centre fills up with slack-jawed cretins until you can’t even queue to buy a pot noodle without wanting to cut out your own eyes. Xmas seems to have lost its true meaning over the last few years, what with the total commodification of fun.

The celebration of the birth (or was it death? I can never remember) of our lordy Jesus Christ is basically an excuse to drink until your liver bleeds for 3 months.

We rarely need that excuse, but for one night only (again) we will be boozing and partying under the guise of celebrating ‘xmas’.

If you came to our party last year, you may recall our good buddies Banditos. They went to see The Pogues the night before, turned up for sound check sporting a genuinely shocking range of hangovers and black eyes, and then utterly rocked the building. So naturally we asked the local folk-punk legends back this year. Their music feels so seasonal, especially if you’re shitfaced!
